The following is taken from the official Kanon Valley
Country Club Rules Handbook
Updated May, 2008

These rules are provided as a
courtesy to our members. While every attempt has been made to duplicate
the Rules Handbook here for your perusal, the OFFICIAL RULES HANDBOOK, available
from the Kanon Valley Country Club office, should be used for determining the
correct rules for the golf club.
INTRODUCTION
Rules and regulations are always necessary and
the members of the Rules Committee trust that you will accept and abide by the
ones recommended to and approved by the Board of Directors. Your
suggestions and recommendations for improving the Club's rules, regulations, and
operation will be welcomed at any time. Please reduce them to writing and
forward them to the chairman of the appropriate committee for their
consideration.

The following rules and regulations governing the
use and operation of the Kanon Valley Country Club facilities have been
established and adopted by the Board of Directors. Please read and become
familiar with them as they are compiled for you protection and enjoyment.
Keep them handy for quick reference and have a good year.

GENERAL RULES
-
1. A house guest is one who resides beyond a 100
mile radius of the club and is temporarily staying at the home of a
member.

2. All complaints must be made in writing to the
General Manager who will attempt to resolve the problem. If not, the
General Manager will refer the problem to the Board of Directors for
resolution.

3. All charge slips must be signed by the member
by name and number. The names of all members in arrears for dues or
other indebtedness to the club for a period of 30 days after the same are
payable to the club shall be posted by the Treasurer with a statement of the
amounts due from each member. Charging and golfing privileges shall be
denied until the account is paid. Member shall be notified in writing
before the above action is taken.

5. Children of members who have attained an age
to be ineligible to use club facilities shall be permitted to join as a full
member with no initiation fee and waiting list priority.

6. All leagues must be approved each year by the
Board of Directors.

GREENS RULES
-
1. All play will be governed by USGA rules
unless otherwise indicated.
-
2. All members and guests must register before
play. All guests except house guests must be accompanied by a
member. At the discretion of the Pro, a second foursome of guests may
be allowed to play when the host member is playing with the balance of the
guests. A member cannot arrange for a group to play without him.

3. Students under 16 will not be permitted on
the main course on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays prior to 11:00 am.

4. Children under the age of 5 will not be
allowed on the course at anytime.

5A. Students between the ages of 5
through 9 will not be allowed on the course unless accompanied by
an adult member.

5B. Students between the ages of 10 through 17 may play
anytime except as prohibited in rule No. 3, 8 and
9.

5C. Students under the age of 16 will not be allowed to operate a golf
cart.

6. Guest fees shall be set by the Board of
Directors. Fees shall be posted in the Pro Shop and announced at the
annual membership meeting.

7. A guest who is rained out before completing
nine (9) holes will receive a rain check.
-
8. Women's Day shall be Tuesday between 8:00 and
11:00am. During the season (May 1 - September 30), men are not allowed on the course until 11:00am.

9. Men's Day shall be Thursday from 11:00am
until 3:30pm. During the season (May 1 - September 30) women and students are not permitted to start play after
11:00am in the morning or before 3:30pm in the afternoon.

10. No one person having a summer or winter
residence within 50 miles of the course shall be a golf guest more than five
(5) times per season (April 1-October 1). Special events as defined by
the Board of Directors are not included in this rule. Men's Day
participation is included in this rule.

11. Members will assume responsibility for their
guests and their conduct.
-
12. During tournament or league play, golfer
engaged in scheduled matches will have tee priority within the time so
designated. Each year tournaments and leagues must be approved by the
women's 18-hole/9-hole leagues held on Women's Day and Men's 9-hole league
held on Tuesday evening.

13. No more than four (4) players (foursome) in
any one group will be permitted on the golf course during the season (April
1-October 1), unless specifically permitted to do so by the pro.
Singles have no standing on the course. The pro has the authority to
combine 2 twosomes, or a threesome, plus a single.

14. Only one group shall be on the tee at one
time.
-
15. Do not play until group ahead is out of
range.
-
16. When ball is lost, allow five minutes to
look; then continue to play. If not convinced, wave next group
through.
-
17. Do not leave carts or clubs in front of
green, but in path to next tee.
-
18. Do not mark scores while on green. Post
scores en route or at next tee.
-
19. As an essential courtesy of golf, slower
players should invite faster matches to play through, and shall stand aside
until the match is out of reach. Deemed slow play if there is one open
hole ahead, they must allow group behind to play through.

20. Players shall not cut in on any hole unless
authorized by the Pro. No person shall start play on the 10th tee
without permission of the Pro or Starter. Players desiring continuous
play shall have priority on the 10th tee if previous players have stopped at
the Clubhouse.

21. Practicing pitching or chipping to green of
the main course is prohibited. Chipping to the practice green
permitted within confines of driveway.

22. Golfers must replace divots, repair ball
marks on greens and level sand in traps.
-
23. Motorized or hand golf carts shall not be
used on the course if conditions are unfavorable, in judgment of starter,
pro, greens committee or president.

24. Use of privately owned motorized carts are
prohibited.
-
25. Do not operate motorized or pull carts near
shoulder of greens or between greens and traps. Please use CART
PATHS AND OBEY CART SIGNS.

26. Metal spikes are prohibited on the golf
course and in the clubhouse. Members and guests may wear soft spikes
or spikeless shoes.

27. Out of bounds: Road to left of No. 1,
No. 2, No 3, No. 7, No. 16 and also as defined by white stakes.
-
28. Proper golf attire is required for
members and guests. This rule will be monitored and enforced by the
Kanon Valley Golf Professional. For example, abbreviated shorts,
swim trunks, gym shorts, ladies halter sets, tank tops, tee shirts, etc.,
are not permitted."

29. High heels, ripple shoes, and bare feet are
not allowed on course or on the putting green.
NOTE: The Greens Committee has complete
supervision on the Golf Course and prescribes all rules for its
regulation. All infractions should be reported in writing to the Greens
Committee or the Board of Directors. The Golf Professional is authorized
to administer and interpret these regulations in the best interest of play and
the majority of members.

MEMBERSHIP

1. All applicants for membership must be approved by the Board
of Directors.

2. Candidates for membership shall be of good moral character
and have attained the age of eighteen (18) years (except student
members). They shall be proposed and seconded by members of the club
in writing upon a blank furnished by the club, the application to be
presented to the Chairman Membership Committee.

3. Candidates for membership shall be elected by the Board of
Directors at any regular or special meeting. A candidate shall be
elected to membership upon receiving the approval of the Board of Directors
at said meeting. The proceedings of the Board in this particular
matter shall be secret and confidential.

4. Membership cards will be issued to member following receipt
of payment of initiation fees and dues.

5. Dues are payable by new members not later than ten (10) days
after notification of acceptance.

6. Annual dues are payable in full by May 15th. If not a
posting will be made of those unpaid and the board has the right to revoke
playing privileges. Dues notices will be mailed on or before December
30. All privileges may be suspended if any assessments are not paid
and the member shall be notified in writing. In accordance with
Article VII, Section 2 of the Corporation Bylaws, initiation fees and dues
will be established annually by the Board of Directors and will be announced
at the annual meeting.

7. Leave of absence may be granted upon written request to the
Board of Directors. Such request must be accompanied by a fee of $25
which is renewable annually. Leave of absence preserves membership
status and precludes reinstatement fees for being placed on waiting
list. Members on Leave of absence are suspended from all club
privileges and activities.

8a. Golf Memberships:
-
(1) Family: The following enjoy all privileges of the club: Member,
spouse, significant other, living together and all children under 18 years
living at home. Unmarried children of member over 18 years who is in armed
services, or a student on a full-time basis whose permanent residence is with
his or her family. Family privileges may also be enjoyed by a Foreign
Exchange student living full-time with a Family Member.

(2) Family-Senior Citizen: Head of Household must be 65 years.
Member and/or spouse enjoy all privileges of the club.

(3) Single: One person enjoys all privileges of the club.

(4) Junior Family or single through age 30.

8b. Social:
Annual dues for each category or classification will be
determined as outlined in Rule No. 6.

CLUBHOUSE RULES
-
1. Matters pertaining to the Clubhouse are the responsibility
of the General Manager. All suggestions or complaints relating thereto
should be made in writing to the General Manager. Members and guests are
requested not to reprimand or instruct club employees.

2. No meeting of any association, organization or committee
shall be held at the Clubhouse unless sponsored by a Club member in good
standing. A request for such meeting must be submitted to the Board of
Directors in writing and approved prior to meeting.

3. Charges for refreshments, meals and services shall be fixed
by the house committee. If clubhouse is leased out, Board & House
committee will coordinate pricing.

4. Members shall be charged with any damage or breakage by
them, their families or their guests.
-
5. No member, guest or child shall be permitted on the main
floor of the Clubhouse in bathing attire or in bare feet.
6. On Men's Day, men will have exclusive use of the Clubhouse
after 4:00 pm. Restrooms and locker rooms are open to everyone.

7. Storage of golf clubs anywhere in the clubhouse is
prohibited.

8. Children under the age of 14 are prohibited from sitting at
bar.

SWIMMING POOL
2. Guests: Members may bring local guests Monday through
Friday (except for holidays). There will be a charge of $1.00 per
guest.

3. The pool hours will be established by the Pool Committee
& Board each year. The pool will be open only when a
lifeguard is on duty. There will be no open swimming without a guard
on duty

5. Lifeguard on duty shall have complete charge of the pool and
is authorized to regulate number of people in pool by asking those who have
been in longest to leave so those waiting to use pool may do so.

6. Lifeguard has authority to request any person to leave pool
area if in his judgment that person is failing to observe the rules or is
jeopardizing the safety or enjoyment of others.
-
7. No one in swimming attire is allowed outside the fenced in
pool area except when attired in robes, smocks, or shirt and walking to or
from Clubhouse locker room or car.

8. No glass containers allowed in Pool area.

9. Pool parties may be arranged for special occasions subject
to approval of Pool Committee and House Committee and board.

10. Any suggestions or criticisms regarding operation or use of
pool should be submitted in writing to the Pool Committee for their
consideration.

TENNIS COURTS
-
1. Players must wear tennis shoes.
-
2. Appropriate dress is required (no swim suits-shirts must be
worn).
-
3. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. (An
adult is considered to be a person 18 years of age or older).

4. No glass containers in the court area.
